Walk the Cure

The 11th edition of Breast Care International's annual "Walk the cure" took place on 7 October 2023. Thousands of people walked through the major streets of the capital city, Accra, to help raise awareness of the disease and its impact on individuals and families. This high-impact breast cancer awareness initiative led by Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Waife Addai, gynecologist and President of Breast Care International Ghana, is actively supported by Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra. Hotel staff joined the breast cancer survivors and many medical and non-medical institutions all the way during the walk. Since March 2023, the hotel has committed to sponsoring several healthcare professionals as they attain oncology training as well as supporting the treatments of affected patients. Hotel guests make a difference in the lives of healthcare professionals and patients alike by donating GHS 15 (approximately 1 Euro) for every night they stay at the hotel. To mark their solidarity and raise awareness, the staff of Kempinski Accra and were taken through some physical exercises too.
